Thanks very much for taking the time to reply in the way you did. I looked at that link to the Flightmaster and I could not believe it. I think it was unfair letting me see that because there is only one way to go here and thats the overhaul. If it means I can possibly get original issue hands fitted even better.
It looks like it cost around £500 for the flightmaster after converting the currency. If it comes back like that there is no contest. I would happily stretch to around £600 as I would effectively be getting a brand new Omega.

I'm had a look at the Omega site and it seems straightforward - send in the watch and they give you a price for a complete refurbishment.

The only snag I can see is the bracelet, which I suspect will be pricey.
