565 calibre

Hi,
apologies for having similar to enquiries to many, i'm sure!
i am new to the whole idea of buying a classic omega.
having searched around, both for value and aesthetic, i have compared a lot of your knowledgable web reports, and have found that late 60's constellations appear to have the best mechanisms and are the best investment!???
don't get me wrong, aesthetic desires are still in there, but i don't have a huge budget- i.e. my god so many omegas are sooo desireable!
please tell me, 564 or 565 what is the best, and ages of production?
length of string question perhaps?!!!
i am particularly looking for 1968's, sellers models details don't necessarily correlate to omega's 'tradition's' site!?
pie-pans? are they really a cut above?

above all, i can understand the obsession!
deep regards,
signed - 'eager to learn more'!- john
p.s. sorry for so many questions
