Re: UPDATE - New Seamaster Pro
In Response To: UPDATE - New Seamaster Pro ()

I really feel sorry for you. How unlucky an you get. Hopefully you'll be able to find a remedy for the problem.

I have my dissapointments as well. I bought a Seamster 2531.80 I've really taken good csare of the watch since this was my first luxury watch. After 2 years of wearing after the warranty expired this beautiful watch of mine suddennly stopped running for no reason at all.

I brought it to Omega in Sydney they said the watch needs to be services (By the way the watch i bought brand new and has never been opened)
They were charging me $800 dollars for the servicing. I could already buy a TISSOT or a Tag for that price. I didn't wear the watch for about 6 months ti'll I went with the family overseas in Southeast Asia for a vacation and went to a certified Omega service centre and had it done there for $250 includes buffing. So I saved $550

I'm dissapointed with the brand as I was told Rolex watches are more durable and last longer. I have a friend who bought a Sub which he hasn't service d for thew last 14 years and is still running perfectly.

I still have the Seamaster, I love it dearly but sad to say Omega isin't as durable as Rolex No wonder the price difference. Probably next time when I buy my next watch if my finances will permit, I'll go for the Sub.

Just my thoughts!

: An update on what has been happening.

: If you remember about 3.5 weeks ago I said that
: my watch was severely scratched by a
: technician after getting the NEW watch
: serviced because it was not working after I
: bought it.

: Well they told me it would take about ten days
: since they would send it to a PRO. Back then
: I thought a PRO - geez, aren't these guys
: PRO's? Well after 10 days they asked me to
: come in and inspect it. I told them I would
: not accept it if there were scratches. When
: I saw the watch, it looked as if they had
: just buffed it. I said unacceptable. They
: said they would try again and this time it
: would take two weeks. Well two weeks and no
: word from them, so I call them and they say
: that they have to send it to Switzerland and
: they may have to replace the watch body. I
: ask them - why had they not told me sooner?
: It seems they are just stalling and/or just
: hoping I give up and accept it as is. Who
: knows?

: Now the watch will be away for another two
: months. Since I bought it in July - I have
: not worn it except for a couple of days to
: realize it wasn't working. All this because
: A) they sold me a watch that was not working
: and B) because of a clumsy technician with a
: heavy hand. One has to wonder it this guys
: does this to the outside of the watch, what
: is he doing to the inside?

: Can you imagine accepting a watch that needs to
: be serviced three times by PROS to try and
: get scratches out and then possibly have the
: watch body replaced.

: And to top this all off - I don't think my
: watch sounds as healthy as other watches.
: The winding sound after they fixed it is not
: very noticeable and I fear I have a
: defective watch or a watch not running at
: optimum performance. It does the job, but
: not the best job it can. I have many watches
: and I also went around during my travels and
: inspected many similar watches and none
: sound like mine. What is a watch person to
: do?

: What would you do? And to top this off my
: warranty id will be at 25% (6 months) and I
: haven't even had the opportunity to be with
: this watch.
