Re: omega seamaster
In Response To: omega seamaster ()

: I have the 'bond' watch Reference 2531.80.00 .

: I ahve bee offered another seamaster in
: excbnage for mine - this is the battery
: version Ref nro: 2264.50.00

: My watch is 4 yars old and the 2264.50.00 is
: only 3 months old. Is it worth changing? I
: know my watch is more expensive.

Tough call. Automatics typically hold their value much better than quartz watches, since true watch enthusiasts always prefer the auto. On the flipside, your watch is probably soon due for its first servicing, which will cost you in the neighborhood of $300. A 3 month old quartz watch is still under warranty and will be much cheaper to service over the years, so it all depends on how much you like your Bond 2531.80 and how long you plan to keep it. If you really don't want to invest the money into servicing an automatic, now is the time to sell (before you have to cough up the money for a trip to an Omega service center).

It really comes down to which watch you like better and think looks best on your wrist, as well as whether you would prefer to own a quartz watch or an automatic.

: ANOTHER question: What is a good watch shop in
: Washington DC? I am going ther and would
: like to buy new watch.

That's a great place to go to buy a new Omega. I'll e-mail you a dealer referral right now.
