Maybe-- but, having worked in the industry for a number of years early in my career, I'd add that there's a lot more to it. "Processing windows" w/ all other things being equal can produce very different results - and costs to the manufacturer. Then you have material substitutions and finishing considerations.
This isn't to say that "name brands" are always superior to "generics." But it pays to know the potential difference before making an informed choice.
