questions about watch service

I just joined this forum to ask a question about watch service. I purchased a seamaster ("James
Bond", automatic, mid-sized) about three years ago and just recently encountered a problem
where the watch stops. It starts after some shaking, but clearly it needs servicing. I wear it every day.

After some brief skimming through this forum, I've decided against sending the watch to secaucus
and to look for an alternative. I see a lot of John's recommendations for waltergooden, so i may
start there (I live in Hawaii, if there are any recommendations for a shop in town, please share).

My question is would anyone know if this sounds like an issue that can't be resolved with cleaning? and can someone offer an idea of what I can expect this service to cost? I understand that there is not a whole lot of info to work from, but if you could share your experiences or educated guesses I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Regards,
Tom Jr.
