Hi,

I recently acquired what appears to be an Omega watch. The person I got it from claims that it is "probably a seamaster model" (although he wasn't quite sure). My main problem with it is that it doesn't appear to say the word "Seamaster" anywhere on the dial, and this worries me. The person I got it from claims that it is authentic, and reassured me that the watch comes with its original box, guarantee card and service history. he says the number on the movement is: 25, 595, 224 and that this number is also written on the guarantee card.

I did a little research on the net, and that serial number DOES correspond to a 1967 Omega watch, as he claimed.

However, I do know that its possible to buy boxes and guarantee cards on Ebay these days.

And unfortunately I am having technical problems with the offical Omega website database, so I can't find out any more info there. (If anyone can help me on that, it would be appreciated!)

The watch is gold coloured (not sure if its real/solid gold or not) and has gold hour markers, but NO DATE WINDOW at the 3 O'clock position. it says "Omega" and "automatic" on the dial.

I've attached a photo of the watch, if thats any help to anyone. I know the crystal is scratched, and the strap is missing, but IF its genuine, I plan to restore the watch with a new crystal and NSA strap.

It does look similar to some of the seamasters in the 1967 catalogue (link below), but as I said, it doesn't appear to have the actual word on the dial.

I will have full access to the watch on monday, so I'll have a closer look at the movement and caseback then.

But until then, any help would be appreciated.
