Re: Omega Speedmaster Day-Date
In Response To: Re: Omega Speedmaster Day-Date ()

: Enrico,

: I'm sorry but as I am new to Omega (and nice
: watches in general) I am not sure what the
: "1 - ss bezel" is. Can you fill me
: in? Thanks so much.

Bezel
The surface ring on the watch that surrounds and holds the crystal in place. A rotating ratchet bezel moves in some sport watches as part of the timing device. If rotating bezels are bi-directional, able to move clockwise or counter clockwise, they can assist in calculations for elapsed times.

- xxx1.xx your watch has a polished stainless steel bezel. if you look at the other models they could be in black thus the designation is xxx0.xx

- xxxx.80 means that the dial is blue and the hour markers are mixed.

- bracelets change over time and there are no designations in the reference number for the type of bracelet. the reference number will only tell you if the watch has a bracelet or strap not the type of bracelet (x5xx.xx) or strap (x8xx.xx). the reference numbers will tell you the color of the strap, however, if you have the additiona 2 codes xxxx.xx.xx. the bracelets have their own reference numbers, but this is a different topic, one that i wouldn't know much about.

- hope this helps and stop saying sorry. everyone here is happy to help.
