Adding to John's thoughts...

PO Chrono reliability and alternatives

Hi, I've read a lot of health warnings on these boards concerning the 33xx movement - I take it these apply to the PO chronograph (c3313)?

The c.3313 movement used by the PO is not immune from the issues that have occurred with earlier c.3301 and c.3303 models. There have been a number of c.3313's which have failed. However, I will mention that I have yet to hear of any complaints with the PO Chrono model, or the AT Chrono's or the Railmaster Chronograph. That doesn't mean they are or are not going to suffer issues, just that they haven't so far.

I had been interested in the 300M Chrono Diver (2225.80) but I discovered an AD in Hong Kong that will sell the PO chrono for only a fraction more.

Like John, I'm surprised that an AD will sell the much higher MSRP PO at a price comparable to the 300m Chrono diver. Is the PO he's selling a new one?

Also a little bit interested in the "normal" PO (2201.50.00 42mm)

Any advice greatly appreciated as I know very little about all this!

Do you need/want a chronograph? If so then you will probably tire quickly of the PO non-chrono, if you don't need/want a chronograph, why pay more and have a thicker watch needlessly?

Which one guns your motor? Ok, which one guns your motor the most?

My advice... Visit an Authorized Omega dealer who stocks all of your candidate watches. and ask to see and try on your wrist each of them. Once you have the watch on your wrist imagine all of the experiences you and the watch will share over the next 10 to 20 years... The classes, the trips, the weddings, funerals, births, graduations, jobs, and days knocking about the house. Picture yourself wearing the watch in those situations, and when you've done that with both watches, go home and think about which watch is a better fit for you and your lifestyle. That's the watch you should get. And consider that in 20-25 years or so, you might wish to pass that watch along to your eldest son when he graduates from High School. Which one would you like to pass on? For we really don't own these watches, we are merely their caretakers for the next generation...

It will end up being a value judgement. And the best person in the world to make a value judgement for you, IS YOU.

Thanks,

Charlie.

Best of fortune on your decision and pending purchase!
