Some thoughts & questions
In Response To: lost moon watch ()

: I am the pround owner of an Omega Speedmaster pre moon watch, the
: watch was a graduation gift from my grandfather. The watch was
: found in the early 70s in New york. I was curious about my watch
: so i did some reserch, and i found out that there was an omega
: watch that was lost around that time period,
: i also found out
: that some guy in Califonia claims that he has found the missing
: watch. The watch had a tiny 43 marked on the caseback and the
: s/n was 26549951. After long litigation they concluded that it
: was not the watch.

Why was there litigation involved over a lost watch? Did the original owner want it back?

I have been doing alot of reserching trying
: to find out the s/n of the watch, but it is not available to the
: public, i called the lawyer that was involved in the case, and
: he wouldnt help me because he still thinks he has the watch

Ok, you lost me. What watch are you talking about now? Didn't you just state the SS number above to be 26549951??

. I
: contacted omega they want to see photos and also my address plus
: $50 just to get an extract of the register. The point that im
: trying to make is do i have the watch or not? my s/n is 26549994
: if you subtract my number from the guy in cali the end result is
: 43. (to be continued)

Not exactly sure a register would help you much in this instance. You certainly have a watch, and why would you think we would be able to help you with this issue? My thoughts are on the significance of the "43" on the California watch is that maybe yours is the lost watch and the guy that lost it originally replaced it with watch ref# 26549951 and that the 43 was inscribed to remind him that the serial number of the lost watch was 43 more than the replacement..your watch. Other than that casual observation, Im at a loss.
