Rules: Postings must be an ad announcing an intent to sell, buy or trade. Full item description and photo(s) must be posted within the message here, not as links to other websites. Links to online auctions and other sites: Links to online auctions, dealer sites or other listings of items are permitted, but you should be careful to ensure that such listings will comply with our other ChronoTrader Policies. In addition, we request that sellers linking to online auctions or listings offer some benefit or accomodation to ChronoTrader readers (for example, some discount or an undertaking to end an auction early, to keep a watch "in the family"). Photos must be of the actual item for sale in its present condition. No counterfeit or replica products. No post for the same item may be repeated within 7 days, except to lower the asking price. Commercial dealers are limited to three unique posts per day. [More...]
: Hi Guys,
: I wanted to make a note on a listing on ebay that is being
: advertised as a Autavia 2446 Jochen Rindt, yet it is a
: compression 2446c standard Autavia. It's a nice piece, but I
: have a feeling there are guys that might not realize that this
: is not a Rindt and will make bids assuming it is because the
: buyer "must" be telling the truth!
: Please pass the word around, and if you have time, report the
: listing to eBay. I would hate to see someone spend a ton of
: money and then later on realize that it is not a Rindt. I have
: notified eBay and also the seller. I told seller that if they do
: not relist with the correct information, then I will be bidding
: on it to drive the price out of the ballpark, so the winning
: bidder will not pay. I would love to see some of you guys
: participate with me, and let's see if we can get this auction to
: ebay's maximum limits of $99,999, like the Tudor we saw a couple
: months ago! LOL! If you are willing to join me on this fun,
: unless seller decides to relist, here is the link:
: Appreciate the community supporting me on getting this listing
: relisted or "sold" for stupid money!
: Thanks
: Carlo
I wouldn't recommend this "strategy". The seller can ultimately fill an unpaid item case and you can end up with your buying privileges limited to some extent. I don't know how many credits it would take for Ebay to block you on the site but it's safer not to try. Just report the case to Ebay. At the end of the day it's the buyer's responsibility to do the due diligence when buying.
Cheers.
