Hi Guys,
After many months of research myself and the Shelby's new owner (who is free to reveal himself :) have honed in on some excellent new information. We were contacted via one of the dozens of Shelby forums we had posted on, by the son of a former field sales manager for Shelby. His region was the Northeast of the US. The sales manager had told his son who now has the watch that the watch in question was one of two dozen that he had commissioned for the 1968 New York Auto Show. The 68 Shelby’s were introduced at that show. The Sales manager had picked up the watches from a Manhattan jeweller the day the show opened and the watches were given to Ford dealers and other VIPs at the show itself. I was also emailed a photo (albeit poor quality).
Regards
Eyal
