TV coverage of motorsport is incredible now, and you probably get a better view of the race than you do live but you can't substitute the sounds and even smells of the real thing. Albeit I wear earplugs nowadays, for F1 at least. Not so sure on the diesel breed of Le Mans cars but then I've not heard them in the metal.
