My one month on Tumblr [very enjoyable] and my 10 days on Pinterest [seems worthless] have shown me that this is a whole new world. It's not about creating original content (information and images), but about re-blogging, liking, pinning, repinning . . . all of it can be absolutely mindless stuff, and can become "broken telephone" (as the kid's game is called), with the misinformation being sent all around.
It was an eye-opener to explore Pinterest and see hundreds of my / our photos there, with no attribution or credits.
This seems to be the new world . . . got to understand it, whether or not we choose to participate in these various outlets.

: Sometimes this kind of mis-information ends up on postings that are
: re-blogged.
: I found a blog referencing a blog post of mine, with my photo, (of
: the 3 Heuer Silverstones), and the blog goes on to talk about
: them as if they are the TAG Heuer re-issue versions, saying that
: the re-issues are available in Blue, Red and Black. I did leave
: a comment pointing out the errors.
: This sort of thing can then get re-blogged again and again, until
: it reaches a point where it looks like the information is
: factually correct.. almost like a modern form of chinese
: whispers. Thankfully it doesn't happen too much.
