Too Ugly to Be Real ? ? ?
In Response To: Prototype Monaco? *PIC* ()

OK, so someone jammed a Lemania 5100 movement and the dial / inner bezel of a Reference 510.403 Silverstone (shown below), into a Monaco case, and it's called a prototype?

  • if the folks at Heuer did it, it's a rare prototype (interesting idea and perhaps valuable).
  • if someone other than Heuer did it in their basement or workshop, then it qualifies as one of the ugliest looking fakes ever.

Shaun: so what was the quality of the workmanship? done to Heuer standards or done in the basement? what was your overall impression of the piece?

I love the 5100's and the Monacos, but I look at this one and can only say, "thank god they didn't produce the thing!!"

all this in my humble and very respectful opinion. so what do others think?

Jeff
