Re: Unorthodox New Arrival (Heuer diver quartz)

Cool, I like it. It is a French made early Heuer diver from the late 1970's. It was made by Monnin in France. The ref.number is 8440 for the quartz, and ref.number 844 for the autmatic.

Page from a 1979 catalogue.

I have the automatic ref.844 version in my collection. These watches was Heuers first divers, the sales was good, so Heuer started their own production in Switzerland. The Monnin-made diver do not have the Heuer logo on the caseback, this is correct, only later Swiss made divers have the famous Heuer logo on the back.

Your quartz is much rarer than the automatic. When it was listed on Ebay a while a go, it was the first I have seen for sale.

Jarl
