Re: Another Antiquorum Auction; Another of Steve's Monacos

Thats interesting, Gerd RĂ¼diger Lang told me he brought 20 watches mixed Monaco, Autavia, Carreras to Le Mans for Steve and Friends. In addition a hole set of stop watches.
David what do you know from the property master ?
Thank you for your mail offer, which I am interested in, however still cant reply.
Cheers
Arno

: Whoever is keeping the datavase on the Monacos actually worn by
: Steve McQueen, please add this one to the list. Here is a bit of
: a description (not the official catalog listing), for an
: upcoming Antiquorum auction: Lot 411: Heuer Monaco Chronograph,
: Owned by Steve McQueen: "One of the most collectible
: vintage Heuer watches, the "Monaco" was made famous by
: Steve McQueen who wore it while filming the 1971 movie "Le
: Mans". The incredible thing about this particular Heuer
: Monaco is that it's the exact one owned and worn by Steve
: McQueen! When he returned home after the filming of "Le
: Mans", he presented the watch to his financial adviser, in
: gratitude for financially restructuring his personal finances
: and the finances of his film company, Solar Productions,
: Inc."
: So that makes at least four of these "worn by Steve"
: Monacos that we have heard of over the last few years. Perhaps
: we can count on David for some sort of explanation.

: Seems strange that whoever owned this one would have had the hands
: replaced (by these service hands), if this watch had been
: received from McQueen . . . but we have seen stranger things . .
: . often from Antiquorum.
