Engraving is Strange; Service Hands Are Disappointing

Yes, the 1966 engraving is a mystery, but perhaps a woman gave it to her husband in 1976, to mark their 10th anniversary (in 1966)? Or would McQueen have given it to his business manager, and the manager then has it engraved to mark some memorable date (first tax return filed for Steve)? Why the double engraving (two names on the back)?

The real "downer" of this watch is the hands . . . beautiful patina on the dial lume, and the hands look as though they were just replaced last week. Hard for me to believe that someone received this one from Steve, then had the hands replaced? But we see owners do all sorts of things with their watches.

We will need to see the official description, when the catalog is published.
