It's an interesting question.
What we have is something that was put together with largely Heuer parts, and is largely identical with a contemporary Carrera. But significantly rarer. To use a dog-breeding analogy, though, only one is a thoroughbred - sure the "mongrel" may have been put together with care, but at the end of the day, it's not Heuer assembled. Though the same watchmaker may have put the same watch together for Heuer six months later...
Sure, I find the watch intriguing and I'd consider adding one to my collection... but only after I'd nailed a few more of the Carrera variations I'm missing. And, in one of the best tests there is for how much you really want a watch (think it was a Maddox variation on a Stein original :) ), would I regret missing out on this one if I don't see another in six months/a year/ever? I could live with that, even the latter. There are other watches I'm still kicking myself over more.
So I'm wavering a bit over value - does the scarcity of the Solothurn watch outweigh the "purity" of a Heuer-branded watch? Not sure, but I'll be watching from the sidelines with interest.
