This is the watch that started it all for me. One of these exact same watches (Fume Barrel Carrera) was my inspiration to start collecting Heuer. I remember as a child my fathers "special watch" which he wore whenever he wasn't at work. He bought it new on a leather strap and it was his golf, motor racing & going out watch. Over the years it had a few straps and bracelets & gathered more than its fair share of marks and scratches, my clearest memory of it is with an ugly expandable stainless bracelet (my dad still swears by these expandable bracelets). It was those memories of my dads Carrera that inspired me to get a Heuer myself and the collecting flame was lit in me ever since.
Your watch is lovely Laurent, bright coloured hands and fantastic case - a world apart from my dads well worn example.
I hope you enjoy this one and thanks for reminding me how my dads watch started out.
