Kentucky Automatic-case and bracelet q's-ever a "mover?"

I just acquired a silver dial Kentucky Automatic, and this is surely one of the most distinctive mechanical watches Heuer ever made. Can anyone provide some information on who made these cases? With this watch, I have to say that I like it a lot better in the metal--the apparent gaudiness of the guilded elements is not nearly as noticeable when they are not magnified.

Does anyone think that these might be a "mover" one day or will they always be a laggard with their prosaic 7750s?

I was also wondering if TAG supports bracelet repair/replacement for the Kentuckys or is this a case of you better pray nothing ever breaks?
