I may get shot for this but here goes:

There are a lot of them around and as a quartz watch they tend to be ignored but collector in general.

As you won't be messing with something that is historically significant...... go for it.

Do it with great thought and care. Make sure you get someone who really knows how to do the work you want.

The greatest compliment you can get on a project like this is "looks factory"

Make sure you post pictures during and after.
