Personal choice it is...Unfortunately there is nothing i prefer on the new one, nor do i know anyone who does, but i won't hold it against people who do prefer the current re issue, or aspects of it ;-)
However having looked at DC's site last week, there are some signs of TH making some good looking watches again, they are just not the re-issue variety.
Now where's that Aussie bloke gone...;-)
it's a matter of personal preference, hardly a rational or
: analytical matter. to my eye, the proportions between the depth
: of the case-back, the "mid-section" and the front
: bezel are much better on the new Silverstone Limited Edition.
: the case-back on the Limited Edition also has the brushed and
: polished surfaces, and is held in place by screws at each
: corner.
: by comparison, the case-back and back surface of the vintage
: Silverstone look more like a "blob", with the
: proportions between the elements appearing off balance, to my
: eye. over the years, this same eye has grown less fond of the
: "top heavy" later Autavias (11630), though I still
: like the earlier ones (1163). the vintage Silverstone looks
: "bottom heavy".
: I am publishing a review that treats the Limited Edition favorably
: . . . we will await your rebuttal!!
