Hi Stewart - I think you are right about the imbedded image codes and I too was anoyed as hell!!!!!!!!!!
I have neve tried to catalogue all the dial variants for any of the divers but it could prove an interesting exercise especially the 844 which had longest production run. Anyway, just something to think about for the future - maybe at retirement :)
