I remember that auction on eBay. The story was heartbreaking, although the seller's lack of knowledge about the watch certainly contributed to its destruction. The moral of the story is that Chronomatics and rare watches really need to be brought into the community of people who know and care about them, or they will suffer this or a similar fate.
