No, cropping the images is fine.

About the dial, I think you could be right because when I saw it the first time I didn't think anything of it but actually got an Excelsior Park Chrono which I thought looked better, that got stolen from me (so it must have had some kind of value) and then I had this one as a replacement, if the dial was sent to Heuer for touch-up is still unclear but I'll definately look into that on Monday as I still have contact with one of the watchmakers from the (now closed) Naval workshop in Copenhagen, maybe he remembers, he's about 15 years older than me but has the memory of an elephant :-)

Ok, everything else being equal, what do I have : a collectors piece or just a nice watch ?

: I cropped them a bit Bo, hope you don't mind.

: The case looks like a Heuer 3336 - that swirling curve on the lugs

: recollection of the movement too, as those use the Valjoux 22.
: They also have this style of polygonal caseback.

: The dial, though it doesn't purport to be a Carrera after all, I
: think is still a problem. I can still see some of the ridges in
: the 30 min register and the markings there look ok but the dial
: in general doesn't look much like those on other 3336s.

: The handset on your watch doesn't look period correct compared to
: the dauphine hands on those either. The impression is of more
: simplicity, reminiscent of these watches from a couple of

: Best guess would be that the dial had some problems, perhaps
: because of its naval life, and has been refinished. Maybe they
: had an earlier model to reference from, something along the
