Mark, thanks for this fantastic reply. I know a little about the Heuer Landerons. I briefly had a black dial example with the date at 9:00 like the example in the lower left of your group of 4. It came from an estate in Indianapolis and was originally from the gift shop at the Motor Speedway. It had the Wings and Wheels logo above the 6:00 marker. I swore I would keep it forever. I grew up near the track and went to my first Indy 500 in 1968. I have worked as a photographer at the track for years so it all means a lot to me. But...someone offered me auction house money for it and t had to go.

Your Nivada is obviously much more practical. However, on the subject of the case style, I must say that I am drawn to weird cases. I prize my straight lug early Speedmaster but I wear my Speedy Mark III with the big ugly Flightmaster case. I love the asymmetrical Hamiltons and Pateks.
