UG Compax Chronos -- A Couple of Questions

Based on the fantastic information and images posted here, I am preparing a very brief, simple overview of the Compax line-up from the 1960s and 1970s. So this overview will not cover the 1940s and 50s Compax models -- which had traditional looking cases -- but will begin with the 1960s chronographs.

So here are a couple of questions:

  • In approximately which year did UG switch from the traditional style cases of the 1940s / 50s to the case with the Speedmaster-style bezel? [and I do apologize for the Speedmaster reference]
  • Did the transition to the Valjoux 72 movement occur at around this same time or did the V72 come later?
  • When did we first see the true 24-hour indication chronographs, the Aero-Compax?
Answers and other pertinent information will be welcomed. How amazing to construct a blog page (or two) from the contributions on this forum.
