If you do a Google search for Heuer Bundeswehr, one of the first items will be a very comprehensive review of the many variations by Walter Manning. This may answer some of the questions raised. As far as missing numbers, in my case, I have a non-3H model with military marking on the case back, but apparently them model number between the lugs has been polished off and is no longer visible.
