Re: Movement issues with my 11630MH,any ideas ?

A couple of questions:
1) when you hand wound it, how many twists did you wind it?
2) was the mainspring inspected when it was serviced?
3) is there good resistance on the crown when you set the hour/minute hands?
Let me know, Craig

: First of all; Hi guys,it's been a while! How's everybody doing? ;D

: Quick recap: After I succumbed to a Rolex addiction which cost me
: most of my Heuer collection,Me and the missus split up,got back
: together,built ourselves a house,which again cost me the
: remaining Heuers.. Except one,my favorite,the Autavia 11630MH..

: Unfortunately,it's suffered from a power reserve issue,ever since I
: got it.
: it runs ok when handwound, all chrono functions work as they
: should, but the damn thing will not run for more than 10-20
: minutes,before it stops cold.

: In between all my other endeavors I sent it to a specialist
: watchmakeroutfit here in Norway, and the result?
: Nothing,they couldn't even tell me what's wrong with it,let alone
: sort it out...

: I then sent it to a retired watchmaker who volunteered to have a go
: at sorting it.
: (this guy is old school, and unlike most other
: "watchmakers" nowadays,he has extensive experience
: with chronographs and mechanical movements.)
: The result,you ask?
: Nothing, according to him there doesn't seem to be anything wrong
: with it's insides. He was nice enough to clean and lubricate the
: movement,free of charge,but couldn't do anything else.Just put
: it back together and send it back to me..
: And it still won't run..

: Anywho, meanwhile me and mrs.Marius bought a run down apartment with
: the intent of fixing it up,and renting out until the wee ones
: were old enough to leave the nest.
: So the Autavia sadly had to wait it out in my watchbox, while I
: sorted the apartment thing.

: But now,as all our projects are finally close to completion (except
: the minor project of raising three children,of course..)
: and after reading a post regarding Jarl's new acquisition (a lovely
: Siffert manualwind ),I realized what I need to do now is get my
: sweet ol' Orange boy up and running...

: So my final option seems to be sending it off to TAG in
: Switzerland,or..?

: What I'd really like to know is what exactly seems to be the
: problem with it? So if the expertise (i.e. you guys )has got any
: theories,or advice as to who I should turn to,I'm all ears..or
: eyes,really.

: Gentlemen,the floor is yours.. :D
