Set the hands, wind it 30 to 40 twists, start the second sweep hand, see if the big hands stop moving after several minutes but the second sweep keeps running? If that happens, its a loose cannon pinion - common on these movements. If everything stops it could be the mainspring but there are a lot of other issues that can cause it to stop. Craig
