Mike is in the right place to see them cheaper, the German market is where most of these still get seen, for pretty obvious reasons.

I've not been to Munich since 2009, which is a long stretch for me, but on the two occasions I did visit in 2009, I could have picked up a few Bunds, including a couple that were under €1000. Prices have come on a lot since then, but I'm sure sourcing them for the sort of price Mike mentions is entirely possible in that market.
