Relume my Monaco or leave Alone

I am really enjoying my Monaco 1133b. For me it's a dream come true. I have a long connection to auto racing and the watch reminds me of my Dad. I have been considering reluming the hands and leaning towards leaving it alone. I do plan to wear the watch once in a while because its way too nice to keep in the closet. Any reason I should do the work? Or ok to leave alone. There does seem to be some deterioration of the hands as you can see in the pic. Why does this occur? I would like to hear from the experts out there. Thanks and enjoy! Mark
