I'm unsure a watch that sold in its hundreds of thousands in the 1980s-90s has any relevance at all to a much rarer Siffert from 1969. The Zenith Daytona is a very common watch, having owned some and also Big Red Daytonas I'd much prefer to have this Siffert (and I bid on it up to about £7250) than a Daytona. For this money you'd get the most ordinary Zenith Daytona, not a Patrizi, not a floating, Porcelin etc. This was a beautiful example of an early Siffert and I think the market has only just started to fully appreciate the best Heuers.

All the best vintage watches have escalated in value in the past 12-24 months, is the best 6541 Milguass worth $300,000? Well yes it is, if multiple people are prepared to pay that to own one. I think in this scenario a boxed/ braced early Siffert in beautiful original condition is a snip at £8000.

: Nuts. Zenith Daytona money......
