Carrera 12 Dato Posted By: Andre Date: 2/3/05 04:14 GMT

Hello,

Howdy!

I was browsing the Chronographs pictures and couldn't get my eyes off of the Carerra 12 Dato, especially the white on white dial.

Here is a picture of mine...

Does this watch come with Valjoux 72c?

Either the 72c or the 723, which are pretty much the same movement. But yes. The venerable Valjoux 72...

And what's the current price range?

To be frank, since I am not looking for another example with this dial, I don't follow current trends, not that there are many out there offered. I look through the Carrera listings very religiously because I'd love to get a Black Dial, a Black with white Subs, and a White with Black Sub version of each...

I purchased mine about 20 months ago (Summer 2003) from a seller in Managascar, it was an eBay purchase (¡Sounds!), my first and only so far purchase from Africa, and it didn't arrive in totally operable shape...

I sent it to Hans in the hope that maybe he could revive her, and he was able to do so very quickly at an astoundingly fair price.

Is it 1940's production?

No, I believe these are 1960's production for the most part, although they could have just as easily been made in the 1950's or 1970's too.

Thanks for the input.

You're welcome! I wish I could be more helpful in your quest to find out. They are getting very hard to find, but If I see a white dial model, I'll circle back around and point the listing out to you.

Good Hunting!
