Are the gold carrera's undervalved?

There seems to be almost no interested in the early gold carrera (except for the 2456). Most of the excellent web sites written by members seem to hardly cover them. The can be bought at a discount to the metallic. I can disclose I have a 3468S which is very nice on the wrist. Unfortunately not seeing much wrist time at the moment because it's away in Belgium at the spa. Yes perhaps the dials don't contrast as nicely as more of the other variants but the discount seems a little too large given that they are a little rarer? If these watches catch on with the Asian market could the interest in anything gold increase?
