I remember some advice from a professional photographer (named Gordon Jolly), when we were out at Road Atlanta, on a day with very dark gray skies. This was circa 1994, in the pre-digital days.

I asked him "What do you do on a day like today?". His answer, "Save your film."

On that particular day, with the dark skies, there wasn't much to do, to make the cars look more attractive. Better to save the film (and the cost of processing) for a nicer day!!
