Four IDF Autavias (113.603) -- Fat Font
In Response To: Some thoughts ()

Shaun:

I believe that these four are authentic . . . all issued by the IDF . . . and all with the "fat font".

Looking forward to seeing your "thin font" sample.

: Fabrizio is correct, there do seem to be two font types. But I have
: seen both font types (thin & tall vs fat and squat) on IDF
: Autavias. The Phillips IDF Autavia and one I own have a the
: taller thin font. The one I have is direct from an Israeli
: ex-mil surplus dealer (not a watch dealer) so I believe is 100%
: correct.

: I must say though that the engraving on the back of the one coming
: up for auction doesn’t look 100% right. The Israeli Autavias
: all have a distinctive engraving style, where the engraving tool
: is rotating so you see spirals. On the auction Autavia it
: doesn’t look like that but maybe it is just the photo; no one
: should take a definitive view from one photo in one angle.

: Happy to post photos of the different font styles and my IDF
: Autavia if people are interested.

: Shaun
