All the major auction houses seem to have been racing to the bottom re Heuers lately.
Indeed most of those up for sale at this auction had nothing that would cause one to buy them here as opposed to other sales channels, surely less expensive. Most of these did not merit the limelight and in fact that they were mostly leftovers from previous auctions speaks volumes. Something seems to have broken down, as if selling ordinary watches in ordinary or less than so conditions through a big-name auction house were to give them some special kind of noble veneer that would justify the premium price - sorry it just isn’t so.
