Co-axel course

Have just got back from doing a Co-axle repair course with Swatch Group UK. I have to say that I now understand why we see so many complaints about the Co-axle but the good news is the version 3 works. You will also see I hope soon a change in material used for the escape wheel which again I hope will mean it will be a true non lube escapement. The Swiss line on servicing will be 6 to 8 years but when you talk to them about absolutes you can’t get an answer. All the oils used in the watches have also just been changed which goes for all Omega products but don’t worry the oil in your watch is still good it’s just that Omega want to use synthetic oil

The course was run by the Tec support from Switzerland He went though the problem and how to check and oil the escapement. The big news is the coming of age of Omega and the fact a new generation of stand alone Omega movements which will have a double barrel.

The course went well for me and passed which those who know me should have been a simple thing but you just never know. I will now be allowed to repair them I hope that I can be of some help as always for this forum

I have Tec sheets for those who want so please contact me and I can send them to you

Regards

Richard
