I'm Confused..
In Response To: Co-axel course ()

: Have just got back from doing a Co-axle repair
: course with Swatch Group UK. I have to say
: that I now understand why we see so many
: complaints about the Co-axle but the good
: news is the version 3 works.

Hi Richard,
If you had been talking about the 33xx series, I'd agree with you. However, I have no idea what you mean when you talk about "so many complaints about the co-axial". Are you personally seeing defective escapements being brought in for repair, or did Omega tell you that they had a lot of problems with the escapement?

I have yet to read one post on any forum where someone sent a watch in for repair and a defective co-axial escapement was found to be the problem. In fact, almost all of the posts I read are about how accurate the co-axial is (especially from Planet Ocean owners).

By "Version 3" I assume you mean caliber 2500C, which has the lower beat rate and modified lift angle. My understanding is that these changes were made to more closely follow George Daniels' recommendations and to make the manufacturing process easier, not because 2500B was flawed. 2500A did have early issues that were addressed and corrected, and 2500B was the result. Most Aqua Terras contain 2500B, and these owners seem happy as well.
