What, because they have a crown on their watches?

: Nice to see Omega is making their own
: movements, but remember that Rolex is King,
: and Omega will always be a step behind no
: matter how many annoying Hollywood celebs
: they get to endorse their company.

Umm, yeah, Rolex has an Air King watch and crowns on all of them, but what exactly are they king of? Making money? Getting poor saps like yourself to think they are the greatest? Once again, another completly ridiculous statement from someone that is obviously ignorant to the Swiss watch industry. No doubt that Rolex makes good watches, but last time I checked, they are not even in the top 10 of the watch world. #1 in sales maybe, but probably not even that as Ive seen more Seikos worn then Ive ever seen Rolexs.

And Yes, Omega might always be a step behind as far as perceived "status", but the direction they are headed in is clearly meant to eat into the Rolex market. The only knock on Omega from the Rolex crowd was the lack of an in house movement, even though they mfg in house the central tourbillon. This has been used for years to justify the absurd price increases by Rolex and the only thing that kept Omega a step behind(which by the way is reflected in the price difference). Now Omega is leveling the playing field a little. You may have forgotten, but Omega and Rolex were seen by many as equal in the 50s and 60s, with some of the Omega inhouse movements of that era being some of the best ever made.

When you make such "uninformed" statements, it just goes to show how little you know about watches, and I quite frankly consider it quite amusing that you believe Rolex is the King, because you certainly are one of their "subjects".
