I Wonder...

: I can hardly wait until Omega releases a
: Seamaster with this movement! I hope I won't
: have to wait long.

I have to wonder about this. Omega has been fitting all of their new models with caliber 2500C (Planet Oceans, new Bond SMP), so I wonder if they will continue to use these ETA-based movements to make the watches more affordable. I would expect to see a massive price increase if the new in-house movements were put into the Seamasters.

For me, the most interesting line in the article about the new in-house movement was this:

It is naturally equipped with an upgraded version of OMEGA’s proprietary Co-Axial technology guaranteeing prolonged timekeeping accuracy and reliability over time.

So far Omega has been through three different versions of the co-axial escapement. Of course, version A was pretty much DOA since it failed right out of the gate. I wonder what modifications were made to this new, upgraded version of the co-axial escapement? They already lowered the beat rate in version C and modified the lift angle to make production easier, so I wonder what was left to modify? Hmmm....
