Unfortunately, it's not the hands but the hour wheel, which is inside the dial and shows the hour through the window at the bottom of the dial, that doesn't return to zero. I had gone to the cowboy to reinstall the reset button, which had unscrewed, as I didn't want to take the movement out by myself since I've never done so with a Monte Carlo.
