advice on polishing cases

Just wondering if anyone has any advice on polishing cases, got a couple of scratches/little dents on a silverstone and early carrera that I would like to sort out. Do you think its best left alone or polished out?? Anyone know anyone in UK who does a top job, my watchmaker says he can do it but I don't know him that well.

Also I have a Heuer bracelet as fitted to later monacos with flat square clasp, problem is its stretched (gaps between links) - is this possible to restore these???
