Aquaracer 2000

A few days ago I purchased an Aquaracer 2000 from a dealer.
I have a few questions that hopefully someone can clarify.
First of all I am absolutely thrilled to be wearing this fine timepiece which is also my first high end watch.(Unless you consider Tissot pr50 highend).
I have bought a Tag from an online dealer and when I took it for resizing the strap was told that there was a high probability that it was a fake , so I returned it and a few months later decided to buy from a dealer. Though more expensive atleast you are guaranteed the real deal.
My question is this, the dealer (A jeweller) gave me 15% off the marked price but he did say that Tag did have a say in how much an authorized dealer can sell the watch for, another watch dealer apparently gave 20-30% off and Tag removed his dealership.
Is there any merit to this?
