Heuer Monaco case

hello,
hopefully someone can help me? A friend offered me a heuer monaco automatic from the
70's.I am thinking about to buy the watch,
but i am not sure if the watch is in original condition.I think normaly
the case has polished edges at the top and bottom upper side of the watch,
where the straps are fixed. The monaco from my friend doesn't have polished
edges, they are the same as the rest of the watch. It might be that the watch
has been restorated one time. Do anybody know if there are different types of
watches on the market?
Please email me under the following address:

volker.krayl@genion.de

Thanks in advance and best regards from germany
Volker
