: I have a Heuer Autavia chronograph which I
: bought new in 1968. It is all original. Two
: sub registers - sweep second and one with a
: 45 minute counter. It has a screw back with
: a Valjoux 92 movement - manual wind. Still
: runs perfectly. Original SS bracelet.

: How "sought after" is this watch?
: Or is it commonplace?

: Just curious after 37 years of enjoying this
: watch. Well, a lot depends on the
: watch's condition and which specific model
: it is. Dial Color also greatly influences
: desirability and price. For example,
: typically a black sub-dial white dial will
: be far more avidly sought than a plain black
: or white/silver dial model.

: It is a desirable watch, however 2-Register
: don't seem to fetch as high of prices from
: collectors when offered on eBay as
: 3-Register chronographs. However there is
: overlap between a highly desirable
: 2-Register model and a less desirable
: 3-Register model in terms of interest and
: value.

: Hope this helps!

Hi Chuck
: Thanks for your reply - it was very helpful. My watch has a black dial and white subs. I have seen a 60's magazine ad which refers to the watch as thje Autavia 45. I'm not able to post pics on the forum but will send some to you by e-mail. I would appreciate if you can verify the model from your expertise.
I have the original red Heuer box but no instruction manual.
Looking at the Chronograph Reference Table on the On the Dash Forum the watch appears to be ref 3646 2nd execution case 1968/1969.
