Re: Omega vs Luminox
In Response To: Re: Omega vs Luminox ()

I understand that. I apologize if I sounded condescending.

The point I was trying to make is that the serious difference in price between these two watches is only partially quantifiable.

My $100 FreeStyle (3 years), my $600 Tag (8 years), my $1400 Fortis (4 years), and my $1750 SMP (2 years) have all served me equally well. They are all accurate and rugged.

I would buy a Rolex Submariner (around $3800) but I can't justify the expense right now. Is it worth it? Probably not, but if money wasn't an issue, I'd get it anyway... because I want it!

In most cases, for most people, there is little justfication for chosing an expensive watch over a cheaper alternative other than you like it, you want it and you can (sometimes) afford it.

: >>>>>>Based on your comments,
: even $300 is probably overkill. You can buy
: a multi-function G-Shock for a lot less. I
: suspect you prefer the Luminox in part
: because of how it looks and how it makes you
: feel. Hmmm
