Quartz vs Chronometer: my 2 cents worth
In Response To: Re: Quartz vs Chronometer ()

ok, now i can put my 2 cents in. I own the 2541.80
Yes the watch is identical to the auto. I believe either watch will give you many fine hours. I also agree with mechanicals, the best of Horology.
Like a fine wine or a fast sports car. Nothing is better. To see a mechanical in motion is PURE ART.
I bought the quartz version because of price. Besides i own many, many mechanicals so i can enjoy them too.

: Who calls it that?

: While everything you say is true, there are
: completely different reasons for liking a
: mechanical watch instead. Practicality is
: not one of them. Mechanical watches are less
: practical and less convenient in several
: ways.

: But so is a rowboat compared to a powerboat, or
: a bicycle compared to a car, or a painting
: compared to a photograph. In each case, one
: is clearly the more efficient method of
: achieving the end. But the older, quainter,
: less efficient methods can can provide a
: more meaningful journey to the same or
: similar objective.

: For those that desire deeper meaning and
: significance over simple efficiencies, the
: less efficient route can be an overall
: better choice.
